These curves form a gigantic bench, a bond that is being forged and woven between the students. It shows the importance of social ties by inviting students into the heart of the creative process. Nature is at the heart of this sustainable development initiative. This line of benches wraps around the trees to provide a place to rest at the crossroads. A reminder of the work inside visually echoes a preliminary stage of the ‘figure eight knot’ being created. Its stylised shape evokes both the ‘&’ sign and the infinity sign.
