‘The Crossroads'

1% ARTISTIQUE – REUNION ISLAND – Tampon Amphitheatre.

The basalt sculpture ensemble is inspired by the site and the geometric proportions of the initial plan. Straight lines in basalt criss-cross the forecourt floor and mark this territory as a place of passage and exchange. I chose to take a piece of this basalt crossroads and place it in front of the building. Extracted from the ground, this volume with its unfinished ends shows the infinity of human connections. The aim is to create a convivial work. This massive rock is an expression of the strength and power of Réunion culture. Representative of the island, it is imbued with its history, its poets and its writers.
