The theme of ‘connection’ is the common thread running through this project, highlighting Martinique's identity through references to poetry and nature. These stylised drawings of laminaria, mangroves, vines and waves are symbols of the island, the movement of the sea and cultural exchanges. The light projection on the façade creates a slow-moving variation of colours and gives the whole structure a breathing quality. Excerpts from poems are inscribed in several languages on the glass doors, so that they can be read both inside and outside the building. These lines, extended by two curved benches, encourage people to meet.
